Commercial and environmental diversity
Fruits planted in the State of Espírito Santo supply domestic and foreign markets’ demand
Brazil has a huge potential of producing fruits to the global market. The country’s climate favors the cultivation of all types of tropical fruits and, for some of them, more than one crop a year can be grown. Due to its diversity, the State of Espírito Santo also stands out and has several fruit producing poles.

In the last decade, this State diversified its agriculture and generated jobs and income for dwellers of different municipalities. Harvest is forwarded both to the market of natural fruits and the processing industry, to supply the market demand.
Due to climate and soil particularities, different cultures stand out in each of the regions of the State of Espírito Santo. In the southern region of the State, most farmlands grow banana and pineapple, while in the north and northeastern regions, papaya, coconut, passion fruit and guava are the predominant cultures. In addition, fruits that are typical of the temperate climate are grown in the center-mountain region.
The potential for fruit horticulture in the State of Espírito Santo is very high. In addition to having all favorable conditions for the cultivation of several fruits due to the biodiversity, and being close to consuming centers, the State government offers all the necessary incentives, both for industries and farmers.
